Should I choose a telephoto prime or a tele zoom?

A prime such as a 135mm or 200mm is often brighter and sharper, and great for portraits. A tele zoom gives you more framing options from one spot, which helps with sports, wildlife and events.

Will this telephoto lens fit my camera?

Check the mount in the product title or description, for example M42, Pentax K, Canon FD, Nikon F or Minolta AF. Manual focus lenses can usually be adapted to mirrorless cameras with a mount adapter. Autofocus lenses work best on a body with the same mount.

How do I avoid blurry photos with a long lens?

Use a shutter speed of at least 1 divided by the focal length, for example 1/250 s at 200mm on a full frame or film camera. On a crop sensor, or with a teleconverter, go faster still, or use a tripod.
