Used DSLR cameras
A digital SLR is still one of the best-value ways into serious photography: an optical viewfinder, real buttons and dials, and a huge choice of interchangeable lenses. This collection holds used DSLRs from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus and Pentax, mostly sold as a kit with a zoom lens, each one tested and cleaned. Every camera is unique, so stock changes quickly.
- Canon EOS: the 300D, 350D, 400D, 450D, 550D and 1000D, plus the 50D, usually with a Canon kit zoom
- Nikon: the D40X, D70, D70s, D90, D200 and D300, with Nikkor or Tamron zoom lenses
- Sony Alpha: the A100, A200, A300, A330 and A350, plus the SLT A33 (Sony A-mount)
- Olympus: Four Thirds DSLRs from the E series with Zuiko Digital lenses
- Pentax: compact DSLRs for the Pentax K mount
Frequently asked questions
Is an older DSLR still good enough today?
Yes. Models like the Canon EOS 450D or Nikon D90 take sharp, natural photos at around 12 megapixels, which is plenty for prints and social media. Many photographers also love the colour of early CCD sensors, as found in the Nikon D70 and D200.
Do my old lenses fit a DSLR?
Often they do. Canon EF lenses fit every Canon EOS DSLR, Minolta and Sony A-mount autofocus lenses fit Sony Alpha bodies, and most Nikon AF lenses work on Nikon DSLRs. Not sure? Check the product description or ask us before you order.
Which DSLR is best for beginners?
A Canon EOS 1000D or 450D, or a Nikon D40X, with an 18 to 55mm kit lens is an easy and affordable start. If you want more control and a sturdier body, look at the Canon EOS 50D or the Nikon D90, D200 and D300.
