Used rangefinder film cameras

Rangefinder cameras focus by lining up two images in the viewfinder. Without a mirror they are compact, quiet and quick to use, which makes them a favourite for street, travel and everyday photography. This collection holds our used 35mm rangefinders, most with a sharp fixed lens and many with automatic exposure.

Models you will often find here:

  • Yashica Electro 35 (G, GS, GSN, GX and FC) and Yashica Minister
  • Canon Canonet QL17 GIII and Canonet 28
  • Minolta Hi-Matic 7s, 9, E and G
  • Olympus 35 SP and the half-frame Olympus Pen EE
  • Ricoh 500 G and 35 ZF, Konica C35 and Petri
  • Voigtländer Prominent and VF 135, Agfa, Revue and Rollei

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a rangefinder and an SLR?

An SLR shows the image through the lens via a mirror. A rangefinder has a separate viewfinder with a focusing patch, so the camera is smaller and quieter and the viewfinder does not black out when you shoot. Most rangefinders here have a fixed lens of around 40 to 45mm.

Which battery does a Yashica Electro 35 or Canonet use?

Many rangefinders from the 1960s and 1970s were designed for mercury cells that are no longer made. Common solutions are modern alkaline or silver oxide cells, sometimes with a simple adapter. Check the product description of the camera you are interested in.
