Which Nikon film camera is good for beginners?

Autofocus SLRs such as the F50, F55 and F65 are easy to use thanks to their automatic modes. The fully mechanical Nikon FM only needs a battery for its light meter and is a favourite for learning manual exposure.

Do older Nikkor lenses fit Nikon digital SLRs?

Most do, because the F mount has stayed the same since 1959. AI and AIS lenses work on all Nikon DSLRs, while AF lenses autofocus only on bodies with a built in focus motor, such as the D70, D90, D200 and D300.

Is 35mm film still available?

Yes. 35mm film is still produced in colour and black and white, so all the Nikon film cameras here can be used today.
