Used digital bridge cameras

A bridge camera sits between a compact and a DSLR: a long built-in zoom lens, a DSLR-style grip and manual controls, without ever having to change lenses. This collection holds used bridge and superzoom cameras from Panasonic, Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon, Sony and Olympus, each one tested and cleaned. Every camera is unique, so stock changes quickly.

Frequently asked questions

What is a bridge camera and who is it for?

A bridge camera combines the ease of a compact with the zoom range and handling of a DSLR. It suits travellers, birdwatchers and anyone who wants to shoot wide landscapes and distant subjects with one camera and no extra lenses.

How much zoom do I need?

For travel and everyday use, 10x to 12x is plenty, as on the Lumix FZ8 or FinePix S5600. For wildlife and sports, look at 24x or more, such as the Lumix FZ200 (24x), Canon SX30 IS (35x) or Nikon Coolpix P510 (42x).

Do bridge cameras use AA batteries?

Some do. Several Fujifilm FinePix S models, such as the S5600, S1700 and S4000, and the Canon PowerShot S2 IS run on standard AA batteries that you can buy anywhere. Most other models use a rechargeable battery pack, and the product description tells you which one.
